Improving Diabetic Foot Care: A Guide for Commissioners
NHS England Transformation Funding
The key objectives were:
• to reduce the number of amputations in people with diabetes
• to reduce hospital admissions for people with active diabetic foot disease
• to generate cost savings to the NHS.
Among the sites that received funding were Sheffield, North Devon and Northamptonshire.
NHS England awarded transformation funding in 2017-19 to 36 sites in England for the introduction or expansion of multidisciplinary foot care teams (MDFTs) for diabetic foot care.
